Zaxx built-in library bookcases around curved windows

What we build

Storage that looks like part of the house

Library walls

Floor-to-ceiling shelving across a whole wall, with the shelf heights set for what you own.

Around windows and doors

Bookcases built around an opening, like the arched library pictured here, so the wall is used right up to the trim.

Window seats

A seat with storage beneath it, built to the width of the window it sits under.

What to bring to a showroom

A built-in is made for one wall, so the wall is where we start.

The width and height of the wall, and the ceiling height.
Where the windows, doors, outlets and vents are on it.
What it has to hold: books, a collection, baskets, files.
Open shelves, doors, or some of each.
A photo of the room.

Why built in, rather than bought

A freestanding bookcase comes in the sizes a store sells. A built-in is made to the inch, so it reaches the corners and the ceiling and leaves no gap to dust behind.

We build in a wide array of colors, finishes, designs and styles, from high-quality natural materials. Every Zaxx cabinet carries at least a one-year guarantee on all wood parts.

Questions

Built-ins and bookcases: questions, answered

How long do custom built-ins take?

Our custom line is normally ready in about four weeks.

Can you build around a window or an arch?

Yes. Built-ins are made for the wall they go on. The library on this page was built around curved windows.

Do you install them?

Our custom cabinets are delivered and installed by our own team.

Is there a guarantee?

Every Zaxx cabinet carries at least a one-year guarantee on all wood parts, which gets it through all four seasons.

Are you the cheapest option?

We won't promise to be the cheapest, and we won't be the most expensive either. We price fairly for high-quality materials and handcrafted work that lasts.
